The Leisure Database Company announces £1m sponsorship investment in health and fitness in the run up to the 2012 Olympics.
From April 2007 we are offering fitness gyms a FREE membership profiling service worth over £1 million. The initiative will help local authorities monitor annual increases in fitness participation and profile their members at individual leisure centres every year from April 2007 until 2012.
The free service has been offered following an agreement with Experian®, the global information solutions company, which has made its Mosaic consumer profiling tool available, through The Leisure Database Company, to all UK leisure centres and private health clubs. The free service will enable organisations to assess whether the Government’s target to increase fitness participation among key social groups has been achieved.

The service will enable every facility, whether public or privately owned, to monitor the annual levels of fitness participation, measure the increase in membership and analyse its users by social group. This initiative complements the Active People research undertaken by Sport England.”
The profiling offered is able to demonstrate to national and local Government and leisure centre managers that their investments in leisure venues are increasing overall participation and, where data is available, to confirm increases in the target groups.
Our profiling service uses the industry standard geo-demographic profiling system, MOSAIC UK, from Experian. The free MOSAIC profile shows the fitness members, broken down into 11 MOSAIC Groups, compared to an estimated catchment area, highlighting the penetration rates currently being achieved.
