Swimmers in the UK have made Splashpath their most popular health and fitness app of 2011!  Apple’s App Store Rewind 2011 list shows Splashpath was the most popular app in the health and fitness category and the app also lies third as the most featured app.

Splashpath helps consumers find out where and when to swim, check updates to pool timetables, improve their swimming and make friends – all at the click of a button.  Splashpath, the mobile app and website, is free for consumers, allowing them to easily find out where they can swim throughout the UK, with all public pools in UK listed.

Already 33, 662 swimmers are registered users of Splashpath since its launch in August 2010. And in January 2012 alone, Splashpath has been viewed by 80,000 unique visitors and a record 1,301 consumers have registered just last week.
There are over 65,000 timetable sessions listed on Splashpath and 550 sites with swimming pools have also embedded Splashpath in their websites enabling swimming timetables to be displayed clearly on the app as well, making it even easier for swimmers to plan when to swim. The Splashpath app can also record swims, complete goals and compete with other users at www.splashpath.com.

"Splashpath, is a marketer’s dream. As any professional involved pre-Splashpath with promoting swimming timetables will tell you, it’s a nightmare! Sessions and timings are constantly changing making printed literature out of date as soon as you produce it. Embedding Splashpath into your organisation’s website allows the individual pools to update their information, meaning the customer always has access to live information. If you aren't familiar with a swimming timetable they can be difficult to read due to the amount of detail that is displayed, but with Splashpath information presented is very easy on the eye, customers can view aquatic activities on a day by day basis", commented
Cathy Fletcher, Marketing Manager, Halo Leisure Services Ltd.

Dan Morgan, Splashpath developer stated, ‘The popularity of Splashpath is hugely encouraging and evidences the consumer trend of an ever increasing appetite for mobile digital information.  As keen swimmers ourselves we created the app out of a frustration over the lack of readily available information on when and where we could swim. Connecting swimmers to local swimming facilities has proven very popular and this has made all the hard work worthwhile!  A big thanks should also be extended to all the operators who have signed up already and played their part in increasing demand for swimming’.
David Minton, director of The Leisure Database Company commented, “We are delighted to be partnered with Splashpath.  We see apps such as Splashpath as the way forward in generating further demand for sports activities, maximising the excellent sports, health and fitness facility assets available in the UK and to understanding sports participation further”.
