The Fitness Market Monitor is a new benchmarking service designed through full industry consultation to deliver industry performance indicators that are representative and inclusive. For the first time, the industry will be able to interrogate industry KPI’s at sector and facility type levels to understand market trends, regional variations and sector specific performances.
Critical to the Fitness Market Monitor’s success will be significant participation by operators to ensure the data delivers meaningful sector comparisons. The Fitness Market Monitor will be a valuable tool for operators in managing performance and for the industry to promote itself to wider stakeholders.
The aim is to launch the Market Monitor in late Autumn 2008 and it was decided by the industry to start the initiative by focusing on a number of key metrics. By tracking membership numbers and revenues, joiners and leavers as the core components, the monitor will deliver key results, trends and performance analysis on a national and sector specific scale.
All operators are invited to comment on the proposed metrics and reports in the run-up to the autumn launch of the new Market Monitor.
